Procrastination is not an unfamiliar word to any of us. What is unfamiliar is how to overcome it. So, without wasting much time on the introduction part, let's have a look on how to stop being an procrastinator.

1. Make sure your tasks are interesting

Now, let's be honest with ourselves. One of the main reasons for procrastination is our lack of interest towards our incomplete tasks. Boring or tough assignments and projects can instantly switch-off our urge to even look into it. But, worry not, there is a simple solution to this problem. Every time you have a task to complete, make it interesting! For instance, if you have a homework to read a 19-page essay for your literature class, instead of sitting at your usual study desk and dreading on it, how about you go out and sit under a tree in your garden or go to your balcony? This way, your tasks may seem a little more fun and interesting. So, make sure to try this method out.

2. Avoid all of your distractions

If you are a strong procrastinator, your willpower to stay focused might be an issue. It is a true fact that procrastinators love distractions. Now, let me bring it to your knowledge that avoiding distractions might be the most difficult mission to accomplish because distractions are all around us 24/7. So, make a little effort to mute your phone and hide it under your bed while you are working. Ensure that you'll always get rid of anything that distracts you from your workplace. It's going to hard but it's not impossible.

3. Give yourself a break

Now, this one is an absolute game-changer. Always, always, always reward yourself with a break once you are done with your task. Set a timetable where you'll specify your work/study time and most importantly, your break time. This way, you'll be more likely to do your work with enthusiasm because you are sure of the fact that you'll be getting a breaktime which will the best time, after completing your work.

Benjamin Franklin once said, "You may delay, but time will not, and lost time is never found again." With this quote in mind, transform yourself from a procrastinator to a person who habitually gets his/her work done in time.
